Description: Pilot tests engine and controls of Sopwith 5F.1 Dolphin (serial number C4130) and mechanic attempts to swing propeller. Line of three Dolphins start up and are lifted round so as to taxi into the position which the Squadron will take up in the air. Three Dolphins take off abreast. General airfield activity with planes taking off and caption "Overseas hangars" (numbered frame indicates that this should precede Dolphins taking off abreast). Several Dolphins fly low over airfield in different flight formations. Final shot is aerial view from one fighter to another following.
Final part of film showing preparation and flight of British single-seat fighter which entered service in late 1917.
